The Heart Behind the Book

Moments That Matter: Poetic Reflections on Life, Love, and Jesus (1)

My book is a lot about myself, but involves others in all our experiences of life. The book will stir your emotion and I would call it an adventure into human feeling. Life is not a straight line of activities, but one of going through valleys of despair, fear, anxiety and loneliness. At other times, we transcend to mountain peaks experiences of joy, peace, tranquility and feeling of WOW. My book of Experiencing Life Through Poetic Verse attempts to capture the moments of our ups and downs allowing Jesus Christ to be in the center. Jesus offers hope and faith, giving grace in our moment of trials where we are tempted to give up. My mother’s wisdom, “you never give up.”

I find life exciting and I write stories, almost parables, of people in different situations: Ole timer Sam, Fallen Street people, Michael’s story, Bottled up and 2 Boats. I include several of my travel experiences: Cabo, Canterbury at Vespers, Driving country roads, and viewing the color palette of the setting sun. I share my personal moments of grief, doubt and fear with my reliance on God’s promise of His abiding care. I share a moment of elations with victory’s of accomplishments. I share my life experiences and the wisdom of older age. The overlying story is Jesus’s love and his willingness to die on the cross, with his triumphant return from the grave. I write an interesting poem of Satan’s 3 days of celebration at the cross thinking of His victory, but then his experience of defeat at the resurrection.

I begin my book with a prayer that includes morning, noon, afternoon and late night prayers that match King David praying 4 times a day for God’s strength. I share many poetic themes of caring, sharing, hope, friendships, faith and children. One poem is entitled, If Children Ruled The World, with the theme of peace and freedom. I ask myself a probing question: Who Am I? What is Life? How Do I Live? Am I Uniquing Made? I talk about the Mysteries of life and probing issues of suffering and pain.

I write with deep emotion of everyday life: walking with the Whisper of The Wind, playing with Nikki, times with my Grandkids, and quiet time in morning with coffee and a good book. All in All, it’s experiencing life through poetic verse. Remembering God’s love is now, unconditional and is coming soon.

Love,

David

Whispers of the Soul: A Journey of Faith, Feeling, and Poetic Reflection (2)

It’s about my MYSELF that I share in a poetic descriptive way that touch the emotions and feelings I have.
It describes the MAGICAL MOMENTS of viewing the colors of the setting sun, of walking on the beaches of Cabo, of the vespers moment in Canterbury Cathedral, of coming home to my Yorkie Nicholas, and the spiritual climb of The Mountain.

It’s full of my own PARABLES of the Soils, of a three day celebration and the WOW of Childbirth and If Children Ruled The World. And FUNNY story about Ole Sam.

I share MOMENTS of my tears and fears in valleys of despair, that is followed by the climb to mountaintops and experience moments of joy and victory.

The book STIRS your emotions in NATURE with feeling the whisper of the wind, the rising of mist in early morning, and the experience of the raging waves in a sea storm.

I talk of my BATTLE with the Tongue and my struggle with Anger.
But most of all, I write of the BEAUTY around me and my search for the Mysteries of life to find “who am I.”
It will stir your emotions when I write of JESUS’ love and the promise of resurrection when death is near.
It is a BOOK of Hope and Faith and never, ever giving up.
